Custom work is an integral part of how Camp N Car helps to manifest the dreams of adventure enthusiasts. We offer the services of our highly trained and dedicated engineers, designers and woodworkers to make something beautiful for your vehicle that meets your needs and will last for a lifetime of road trips.
What can You Make for Me?
In short, just about anything so long as it’s mostly made of wood! The Camp N Car design team is made up of highly trained professionals who use advanced 3D modeling, precision CNC machinery and other advanced techniques to create top of the line sleeping platforms, cabinetry, storage solutions and so much more for breathing life into all manner of vans, trucks, SUVS and other vehicles.
What Is the Custom Work Process?
Getting started on a custom project is a fairly straightforward process! First off, you’ll want to contact us for an initial free over the phone consultation to learn about your options and figure out if your idea is in line with what we can offer. From there you’ll need to book an in person appointment with our designers in Port Townsend, Washington. At this time we can only offer custom work to those who are able to come to our shop in the Pacific Northwest. During your in person design consultation our team will get more information about your build concept, take a bunch of measurements inside your vehicle and then move on to the design and estimation phase. After a week or two they will have a basic 3D model of the project for you to review and approve in addition to the final price on the project.
This consultation process costs $250 to cover the designers time, if you move forward on the project this fee is deducted from your total balance. Once you approve the project you’ll need to pay half the total cost upfront with the remaining balance to be collected upon completion of the project. Throughout this entire process we’ll work closely with you to ensure every aspect of the build is just how you want it, from the kind of lumber and hardware we use to any edits that might improve the workability of the unit itself. Our in person consultations can be purchased on our web store! From there we will reach out to schedule the in person meeting if we haven’t already done so.
